Mud and tape the walls first.
That way you can mud and tape up under where the edge of the tile will be. This will povide a smooth transition from tile to sheetrock. If you did the tile first you would probably end up with a sloppy mess when you tried to mud and tape up to the edge of the tile.
Do your walls then your tile
as a general rule you should always work from top to bottom with the exception of roofing and siding. however when doing multiple projects there is nothing wrong with starting the tile while the mudd is drying. just be sure to make sure your grout is dry before you start sanding.
And at least primer before .. Once you primer you can do tile and grout . Should you get grout on a primered wall it ll wipe right off.. Darker grouts may stain unprimered wall making it harder to wipe down and paint later GL
P S All my builders prime and finish paint as one of the last things but it varies a bit
