This cat was probably taken away from its mom to early ! I’ve had a couple of mine do this also.Not with sheets but my ear lobe and clothes I’m wearing. In fact my new kitty I just rescued from a shelter is 4mons old and lays on my chest with his nose to my chin or just below and kneads his paws like hes nursing his mom but doesn’t grab my neck or clothes with claws and drouls like nursing and its only me he does this to. I’m his safe mom I guess! Alittle wierd , but have seen same behavior my whole 57 yrs of loving cats
I have no idea. At least he is not trying to use you. Cats do some of the weirdest things.
Sometimes they carry on behaviors they learn at a very young age. One of my cats is a 5-year old neutered male, and he bites and kneads blankets until they are wadded up into a ball, then humps them. There is no sexual reason because he is neutered, but the behavior has already been learned and he continues to do it no matter how many times I take it away from him.
