What would you get? An inflatable air mattress or a cheep futon? Family coming to visit?
My grandma is coming to visit and I need to give her my bed. (She’s 91 years old!) so I’m going out today to look at getting something more comfortable for me to sleep on than my couch. (It just hurts to sleep on it.)
So, I’m thinking Walmart… Both seem to run about 0.00.
What do you think would be better?
1. An air mattress?
or
2. A cheep futon I can keep in my back room?
Air:
Pro: I can roll the air mattress up and store it in a closet.
Con: It can get a hole in it and become useless. (I have a cat)
Futon:
Pro: I can use it in my back office as a place to sit when working after it is used for guests.
Con: It can’t be put away.

I wouldn’t go for the air mattress is I had a cat, no matter what the pros and cons were.
I have used both methods, and my guests always preferred the futon. Air mattresses, even if they don’t get an actual hole, can tend to lose pressure with time. If you have room for the futon, I personally think that’s your best bet.
See if you can buy just a futon mattress. Air mattresses are horrible. They’re very noisy.
