Why don’t you use big loose stitches (Blanket stitch) and sew them together first, this will stop them slipping and bunching up, and stitches will cut out easily when needed.

Place the comforters directly on top of one another, lay them across the bed, turn the duvet inside out, run your arm up inside of the duvet to the corner, through the duvet grab the corner of both of the comforters, keep ahold of the corners and with your other hand pull the duvet up to the top of the comforters, have someone on the opposite side to do the same thing as explained in the above steps simultaneously as you
