Is it tacky to use a pretty quilt to cover a sofa? How do I keep the quilt in place?

I’ve got a really old sofa in my room that’s super comfortable but it’s so ugly. I just put a quilt over it and I think it looks okay. I’m in high school so it’s not like everything gotta be perfect. I just don’t know if it’s tacky to cover sofas this way.
How do I keep the quilt from moving around?

That sounds like it would look nice. Drape it so that there is a lot hanging over the top and then tuck it in really well where the seat meets the back?
It is not tacky. Quilts are often used to cover furniture. It should stay in place by just draping it over the couch, drape the extra over the back and tuck it in between the back and seat cushions a little to help hold it…
