i am looking at trying to sew some very simple pillow shams. i am not a professional sewer by any means, but can somewhat make my way around a sewing machine. i looked online for some step by step instructions (with pictures) but cant seem to find any. please help

Daughter gave me a bed set that included two pillow shams. Every time I wash the sham I have trouble folding the pillow to get it back into the sham. Should I just go down to the washateria and wash the pillow in the sham?

My cotten & down blankets keep getting bundled in their duvet covers (I don’t mean when I wash them, just during normal use when sleeping, etc). What’s the best way to secure them? My mom used to use a diaper pin at the corners, but those are ugly and dangerous. Is there a better way?

That are not faux fur, under 200$ that are black and white with maybe some grey in it.
Or checkered print like a black and white checkerboard.
