I registered for 2 Euro Shams at Bed Bath and Beyond that match my bedset. The size of the shams are 25 X 25 (it says on the package). How will they fit when all Euro Pillows are all 26 X 26? How will those shams fit a standard sized euro pillow? Makes no sense to me. Will it fit?

I’ve been looking online and haven’t found much. I’m looking for a medium priced, burgandy color in a king size.
I had a friend who showed me how to do this but I have forgotten and I can’t find the pattern! She took a piece of decorator fabric and drew a grid on the back. She then pinched certain corners of the grid together and made a stitch. After repeating this in a pattern all over the effect was a loopy woven effect on the front of the fabric. Perfect for a fluffy puffy pillow sham etc. Anyone know of a pattern for that or how to do it?
also, if you were buying one in a catalog how would you know if it was firm or soft. Currently i have a duvet cover which is firm and one which is soft and they are both 50% polystyrene and 50% cotton. confused.
