What is the best way to remove blood stains from bed sheets? It’s only a small amount, from a blemish I scratched at during the night. It has been sitting apx 1 week. The sheets are a cotton and light blue in color so I dont want to use bleach or anything else that will stain the fabric. I do not have any oxyclean. I do have a shout stain stick but I’m not sure that it will work for blood. I’ve seen so many different suggestions but I dont know what will really work!

My wife and our newborn son live with my grandmother who has mrsa. We all do laundry in the same washer and dryer. All of my grandmothers clothes and the things that cover her legs where the mrsa is at are washed with color safe bleach, and after her laundry is done a full cycle of hot water and bleach is ran by itself. My question is it safe for use to wash, not only our clothes, but our babies clothes in the same washer?

I take it apart about every other month or more if it has been humid outside. I put the foam pieces outside on my deck in the sun and I spray them with Lysol spray. Inside, I spray the air mattresses with a mix of bleach and water, let them sit a couple of hours and then wash them down with detergent and water. I then spray them with Lysol before putting the bed back together again. I’ve tried letting the Lysol completely dry before putting it back together and I’ve also left it still wet when putting it back together, either way, I still find mold every single time I open the bed. I have menopause so I have terrible night sweats which is what is causing the moisture. This is a HUGE project every time I do it but I have arthritis in my hips and the Sleep Number bed is wonderful for that so I really don’t want to get rid of it. I was thinking about putting some charcoal pieces in there to absorb some of the moisture. Any suggestions?

I need some advice on how to wash my shoes in the washing machine. They are white Nikes. Should I bleach them, should I wash it in cold, hot, cool, or warm water?
Thanks so much for your answers. You guys have really helped me out! It’s gonna be hard to choose a best answer.

My 2 year old daughter has had the stomach flu and I read on WedMD that I should bleach all clothes, linens, etc that came into contact with her diarrea and vomit. This may sound stupid, but I have NEVER bleached anything other than clothing that was already white. I dont want to risk ruining anything, so how do I disinfect these items? I dont want her stomach flu to spread to the whole family – what can I do?

I rent out white table linens made of 100% poly-poplin polyester. There are some food and drink stains on them. Is there there any way to get them out? They are white, but I read not to put bleach on polyester. Also somehow one has either mold or grass stains. What can I do for that?

I rinsed (not washed) towels that were soaked with sewer back up material in my washing machine because i needed them again (caught while it happened). Do I need to replace the washing machine, or can I just run bleach through it a couple of times?

My restaurant has recently dimissed our linen company and now I’m washing our bar towels. I bought them brand new and realize that after first use and wash I’m not able to get them pearly white. I’ve used a lot of bleach and detergent, but it’s not getting it done. Is there a way to dye my fabric white? I know it’s a contradiction of terms, but I need to make them very white.
Any suggestions?

Hi my mom left for vacations and I need to clean my fridge and my bed sheets, but I can’t use the washing machine.
My dog also sleep on bed sheets (he doesn’t like his dog basket) so I need to clean his sheets very well.
What can I use? I was wondering if I could use bleach?
I also need to desinfect my dog’s toys, what can I use?
If I use the washing machine to clean my sheets I’m afraid it will break (long term) because there are a lot of my dog’s hair on them…

Last night my dog peed on the bed and I immediately took the sheets off the bed and washed. I used a 1/2 cup borax and some baking soda– as well as a color safe bleach to clean them.
My question is do you think I removed the smell? To my nose, I don’t detect anything, but wasn’t sure if the dog would be able to smell and maybe pee there again in the future.
Luckily I had a matress pad on the bed, which I washed the same way to prevent the matress from getting ruined.

I am having my home treated for bed bugs, and to prep I am supposed to wash all of my clothes and put them in plastic bags before treatment…Some of my clothes will be ruined if washed in extremely hot water, and I know that bleach can kill bed bugs if applied directly, so will washing some of my clothes in cold water but using color-safe bleach kill the bed bugs and eggs?? (I was also going to put them in the dryer afterwards) PLEASE HELP ME!!
