Just put on a new comforter and sheet set yesterday. Came home, put some extra stuff on the bed. Check email, do some stuff. Go to move stuff off the bed and there’s a HUGE wet spot. That’s right, dog peed on the bed! He NEVER does that. He didn’t go out too long ago so I’m confused, and upset.

It got on the comforter, regular sheet and fitted sheet- all made of satin? material. Also got on our mattress cover (luckily mattress is clean). I changed the sheets and everything, but now I am stuck with pee-filled sheets and comforter because we don’t have a washer/dryer in unit. Would it be okay to leave it to tomorrow, or is there something I should/can do to prevent it from staining the NEW satin sheets and comforter? Like I said… these JUST went on yesterday!
He’s 2. I think it was an attention thing. I’ve been busy lately. I’ll see if anything else happens in the next few days. If so, I’m bringing him to the vet.

kay, i have this comforter thats different colors so i want to get sheets to match it. in the stores though its just like one color for the set. is there a site that i can visit where i can pick the colors for each thing, likkeee..

ive tried a dustmite cover that the matress fits into and zips all the way around which he ripped,tore off first night. tried a quilted cover that looks like a mattress top hoping it would seem like the mattress to him, which he wait for it….takes off, i still put a fitted sheet on every night but for several years he just takes it back off and he has an allergy to dust mites so im not happy about him INSISTING on sleeping on the bare mattress. any thing you have tried with your child with autism that has worked?

Yes indeed he did last night. So now I am "compared" to his " Betty Crocker" ( kosher style) mother? Really? I’m sorry that I could not live the 1950′s lifestyle and actually had to make my way through college, and learn what I could? Whatever. This is how it went down last night, we were folding laundry (we both work), and I was TRYING to fold up this lame, fitted sheet that would under no circumstance, cooperate with me and my husband looks over at me and said;
" Wow! My mother can fold up a fitted sheet like that one, like it was nothing…" My response? " That’s nice. Have your mom do your laundry then."
Was I too harsh on him? I hope that I don’t have to keep living up to my Wonder Woman, MIL. I better take some cooking and sewing classes so that he will be happy with me, and I will quit my job to do all of these new challenges. What do you guys think?

I want to buy new sheets for my bed, but it’s been a while since I’ve looked. I know that Twin XL beds are 39"x80" and Twin is 39"x75", so when I buy new sheets, will the fitted sheet work if I choose a Twin package?
If not, what choices do I have?

My wife and I have a Sealy Posturepedic memory foam bed and the fitted sheet always pulls up on one side (my side) of the bed. It drives me crazy and we don’t know how to fix it.

I just read 4 questions on here about how to stop your top bed sheet from falling off while you are sleeping or when you turnover in the middle of the night. All the answers were mostly to buy elastic clip things which never worked for anyone who I knew that bought them.

An easier solution is just to simply tie two knots in each corner of the bottom of the top sheet, where your feet would go. It works so well in fact that you could even use a top sheet for the bottom fitted sheet and tie all the corners and it will fit exactly like a fitted sheet, not that you would want to, I am just saying it works that well. Depending on how much bigger the top sheet is than the bed, you will tie a small knot on the bottom corners of the top bed sheet to where it fits under the top mattress just like a fitted sheet. If it doesn’t fit, you tied the knots too big and if it fits but still falls off the knots are too small. You may have to adjust the position and size of the knot to get the sheet just right from falling of but trust me this is not rocket science. I used to have a water bed with sheets that were sewn together at the bottom to stop that from happening.

But my question is why can’t a sheet manufacturer make the bottom sheet fitted at the bottom where your feet would go so it doesn’t fall off the bed but still a flat like a top sheet on top?

I have always wanted to know what the hell is the usefulness in a flat sheet for a bed? I mean the fitted sheet is a given (meant to cover the mattress) and the comforter, blankets are also common sense (meant to cover you and keep you warm), but the flat sheet I don’t get. I mean it always comes off the bed and wriggles it’s way around and has to constantly be fixed. It lays atop the fitted sheet anyway so then to me that kind of defeats the purpose of having the fitted sheet.

I like the fitted sheet for it stays in place and has it’s purpose, but what in God’s name is the flat sheet for?? Is it really needed and if so what does it accomplish??

The mattress is a square with a "panhandle" sticking out around the back seats and going to the front of the van. (Think of the shape of Oklahoma) How can I sew a fitted sheet? It seems impossible.

This may seem like quite a stupid question to some, but ever since I was born and given my own bed to sleep on my mum hated sleeping with a flat sheet so she decided to make me sleep between a fitted sheet and a quilt. Now I just went to a bedding store and bought my own bed sheet set which included a fitted and flat sheet and I know that the flat sheet is supposed to be tucked in after the fitted but the problem is i’ve never slept under one before and was wondering if it becomes messed up a lot (i roll over occasionally) when I wake up, because I dont really feel like having to tuck in a flat sheet EVERY morning before I head to school. Btw, On top of the flat sheet is just a quilt layed on top.

We have a Kings Down nice high riser type mattress and box spring , ,I have been having back problems and it seems when I wake up in the am its worse after being on that mattress, so I could never understand why the fitted sheets cant be brought all the way down on the corners until thither day I pulled everything up an there is this thick top pad under the fitted sheet , now correct me if I’m wrong but do you really need this extra top pad on top of the sewed on factory pad that it was intended for,this could be my back problem and maybe to get rid of the extrta top pad would solve things. If anyone knows about these matress things I would appreciate it thank you.
I have tried the board trick years ago and it didn’t work ,it was even worse.
If I paid enough for this 20 year mattress why would I want to even cover the sewed in top pillow on it,I figure just keep it clean with a good fitted sheet over it?
