I’m planning on buying some flannel sheets for a twin XL mattress from LL Bean, and they’re not sold as a set: pillowcases, flat sheets, and fitted sheets are sold separately. The fitted sheet comes in the XL size, but the flat sheet only comes in regular twin and full sizes. I like to tuck my sheets OVER my comforter (which will be twin-sized)… will the twin size be long enough to cover the mattress AND tuck over on the comforter, or should I buy the full size and just tuck the excess side fabric under?

In many upscale resorts that my friend and I have visited there are two flat sheets on the beds. e.g. a bed spread, a flat sheet, a comforter. a flat sheet, and the fitted sheet ….why two flat sheets, my guess is that it is for "daytime activities" naps etc, then at night the second flat sheet. This way you avoid the ‘wet spot’ and other travails, She disputes this. Can you settle our long standing dispute?

I’m dorm-shopping, and I found some really nice sheets at a good price…however, they don’t come in a Twin XL size. I figured I’d just buy the regular Twin size flat sheet, but the Twin fitted sheet obviously won’t fit. Does anybody know the dimensions of a Twin XL/Full/Queen bed? I’m wondering whether I can buy a size or two up, and just tuck the extra fabric under the mattress…

I have a flimsy little foam mattress pad and a very plastic bed (dorm room) but after a couple days my mattress pad will have moved away from the wall a good two-inches and be hanging off the side of my mattress (even though I have a fitted sheet on it. The sheet is loose but it’s the only one I have that fits the length of the mattress and the height of the mattress with the pad on it)
Does anyone have an ideas of how to stop the mattress pad from moving? I thought of taping it to the bed but there might be better answers..

I bought a super soft awesome featherbed topper. Should a mattress pad go over it to protect it? I have a puffy soft pillow top mattress pad. Should I put that over it or will it be too soft? Is tje featherbed supposed to go under the fitted sheet? Thanks

hey, on my bed i have a flat sheet and a fitted sheet. the fitted sheet hugs the mattress, and the flat sheet lays atop the fitted sheet.
so i don’t have to change sheets as often, i lay atop the flat sheet for a while. then when i want a clean feel i go under the flat sheet and lay atop the clean fitted sheet.
am i disgusting and the only person who does this? haha

I don’t know why, but I just can’t sleep with them. I think I wiggle around to much and would just get caught up in them. I use my fitted sheet and comforter and it’s good enough for me.
When you buy sheet sets. It comes with matching pillow cases, a fitted sheet, and a flat sheet.
So I am just curious how many people actually use flat sheets? Or am I the only one who is weird like that?

What is the function of the flat sheet and how to use it? I know that the fitted sheet is to cover the mattress but I am not sure about the flat sheet. Thanks for your help.

We have a queen size mattress that has a pillow top so it’s extra thick. Queen sheets up to 17" fit ok but after a few washes they seem to get kind of snug. Just curious (and yes, I know it’s goofy) if anyone has ever tried KING sheets (specifically the fitted sheet) on the queen size bed? We have a king size bedspread that fits great so I don’t know. lol. End of the night bored question I guess

My husband stayed at an inn where they had featherbeds. He raved about how comfortable they were so I bought one. Unfortunately, he can’t remember the details of how the bed was made and the sales person couldn’t tell me anything either. Does the featherbed go on top of the fitted sheet or under it? If it goes on top, does the featherbed need some kind of cover since the person would be sleeping directly on top of it? Thank-you for your help!

I know this sounds like a dumb question but I am just wondering because the new bed I am getting is going to be 13.5 inches and I found this bed set that has a fitted sheet that says it fits mattresses up to 13" thick but the on other websites (same exact product) says up to 14" and even 16" on the same product!!
If it really only fits up to 13"…will it just fit snuggly over my mattress or will it be annoying and keep coming off? I REALLY like this set and hope it works out! Please let me know if you have experienced anything like this!
Thanks!

I am receiving a 3/4 bed from my grandparents, but I don’t have any extra sheets for it. All I need is the mattress pad and the fitted sheet. However, when I google it, I can’t find any to order for my bed that are at a reasonable price.
If you could find a trustworthy website for me, that’d be great!!
Thanks!
