I will soon be moving to another state and I’m looking for alternate methods of moving my mattresses and one antique dresser. Does anyone have any ideas from previous experience? I’ll be moving within the next two months and I’m not looking to pay a lot of money. I’ll only be shipping these items and buying new furniture when I get to my new location. Thank you.

When I went to find new sheets for my perfectly good 9 inch high (thickness) mattress, I discovered the fitted sheets are all designed for newer 13-16 inch mattresses. Result: the fitted sheets are very loose and hardly worthy of the name. Who sells fitted sheets with a good fiber count (300+) for traditional mattresses without the pillow tops and other gimmicks?

Also can these problems be fixed after getting a new mattress? And is there anything I can do about it in the meantime, while I search for mattresses?

I’ve been looking at beds, and they can come with different kinds of mattresses, sprung, protector, and comfort, going from cheapest to most expensive. What’s the difference between them all, which one is better, and what do they do? Thanks in advance!

Other than sleeping on the floor or a board…
Feather mattresses seem like a good idea but they are mostly designed to go on top of a sprung mattress, and thicker ones are SERIOUSLY expensive.
Seems to me a good night’s sleep shouldn’t be so costly!

I know that dust mites allegedly double the weight of mattresses after years of use, and I am wondering if I can vacuum them out and then cover it with an allergy and dust mite fighting type cover.

I have three of the same mattresses I bought at Walmart. One lasted a while, then i got another and on first trip, deflated by morning. Bought a new one and same thing. I cannot find the leak and bought a coleman. Any ideas on how to find leak? then how to fix it.

I want a bigger bed, and I’m thinking of doing it cheap. I have a chance to buy two frame mattresses and put them next to each other and have a thin mattress over them. But I’m wondering: will the frame mattresses glide apart?

I painted the house, washed the curtains, threw the carpets out, opened the windows, washed the beds but the smell seems to be embedded in the mattresses.

I need to buy two full mattresses for my twins’ new beds. Is there any outlet store? I lived in DC for fifteen years – there was a store that sold previously used (sanitized) hotel mattresses for cheap. Anything like that in ATL?

I went down to buy a new mattress today and three or four stores I went to were sold out. I asked the salesman why there was a shortage of mattresses and he told me people are buying them up to hide their money in. Is that true?
