How many LOADS of laundry will a 30" x 40" laundry bag hold? The bag is made of cloth, not mesh, so there is little to no stretching of the bag. She uses standard/residential size, top load washers and is fair with her loads (8 to 10 premium bath towels is a load or a standard/queen mattress set of sheets (flat, fitted, and two pillow cases) is a load. I am very clean. I wash my hair daily and change my sheets and pillow cases about 2 times a week, but they smell like greasy hair. I know it is disqusting. I wash them in the hottest water available and use tide. Any suggestions to get this greasy hair smell outa my cases.
I am a nurse, I wash my hair before I leave for work in the am and after work. I have used everything from Suave to Head and shoulders. The pillows are less than 3 mos old. My son has the same greasy hair smell in his pillow cases. Thanks for the excellent response. I will try some of these things.

We want to avoid anything that is bad for the environment. (In other words, is there a green way of whitening yellowed pillow cases! LOL)

My late grandmother, hand embroidered 2 pillow cases, that are just sitting around. Several years ago I seen some rag like dolls made of pillow cases. I would like the embroidered part to be the "pretty" part of the dress. Can you help, with pictures etc?? Thanks

My boyfriend sweats every night and gets his side of the bed stained and smelly. I don’t have time to wash the sheets every other day along with the ton of other laundry I always have. Are there any pillow cases or bedding that is sweat/moisture resistant that I can get? Anyone have any tips for this problem?

its like an oily, greasy stain…i use Tide detergent on my pillow cases and i don’t wash my pillows.

I bought a fantastic Egyptian cotton duvet cover and a pair of pillow cases; they are luxuriously soft and a dream to sleep with.

For sometime now I have noticed the top of the cover has become noticeably discoloured. At first I thought it was the direct sunlight, I was correctly informed that the sun bleaches, so this would not be the culprit.

I wash it regularly with biological soap tablets and a 1/4 cup of white vinegar in place of fabric softener. I have a very good front loading washing machine too. I follow the care labels correctly also.

It could well be that it is just dirty, as it is the top of the duvet cover. I was hoping some one could give some ideas as to why it has changed colour, is it just a build up of dirt and if so why has it not been washed out?

The care label has the no bleach symbol, but does any one advise me to bleach and would it solve the problem? I thought this was the most likely solution.

I know there are many stain removing products on the market, but I am not sure comfortable I am with them. I don’t leave stains and wash to make sure things stay clean in the first place.

I have pillow cases that have a weird smell that I can’t get out. They’ll smell fresh when first coming out of the drier, but after sitting in the closet a few days, the fresh fades and the smell returns. I’m certain it’s from body oils, as it’s also happened with a few old shirts.

Just checking to see how others compare in terms of routine and cleanliness. Do you change your sheets and pillow cases after a couple of weeks, once a week, or when they start to smell? I know a few people who would sleep on the same sheet for weeks. Ugh!!!

Is there a local store like Kinkos or something that can print digital photos onto pillows or pillow cases? Or anyone know a reliable site that can do it?
I might try Wal-Mart, I prefer people who might have experience in the subject rather than doing it myself just to screw up

I am in the process of redecorating my home and want to change the color of my throw pillow cases but cant find the right fabric or color in premade throw pillows so i am undertaking to make my own….but dont know how to make them….i have the sewing machine and fabric but thats about it….please help i dotn want to messt hsi up cos i have done really good with the rest of the house but just not this!
