Is the Queen of the Uk in charge of the Police force i.e can she give orders to the police. I know she is commander in chief of the armed forces, but what is she in regards to the police. Surely because the police are constables of the crown they act on written order of the crown set out by her loyal ministers?

Does anyone know any information regarding this?
By written order I mean they act within policing laws.

I have new queen-sized 100% cotton sheets that are beautiful but wrinkle really badly, They’re much too big to iron, particularly for a senior citizen like me.

A friend suggested a Downy wrinkle-release product but it’s very expensive. Someone else said she made her own wrinkle-release spray by combining fabric softener and water. Would that work? Does anybody know the formula?

Other than fabric spray, how can I get the wrinkles out of dryer-dried sheets without ironing them?

Hello. I have a brand new really tall bed. I don’t think I’d have bought it if I’d known how tall, but it’s really comfy. Anyway, technically it’s a queen but deep pocket sheets don’t fit. Some suggested in an early question of mine, extra deep pockets. I’ll be doing that. But here are some more questions…

1) Will the flat sheet also be extra long so it drapes properly?
2) I have a full/queen comforter that is far too "short". Should I go for a king
3) I want to get a bed skirt. Do they make those in like "tall" also

I’m almost thinking of returning the bed because of this unexpected problem.

Why are blankets, comforters, sheets and pillows so expensive ?

I can see if they are HAND sewn but ALL the ones I see are too expensive and are not hand sewn they come off machines that probably pump out 1000 at a time.

I do not care about Thread Count ect , I just want a new cheap Comforter.Full or Queen for under .00

Any places NOT online that carry them in Chicago ? And new not used.

My wife and I recently purchased a new king, upgrading from our queen. I’ve been looking around at bed sheets. It seems that Egyptian Cotton is pretty much the standard. However, I see some sheets that claim 100% Egyptian Cotton 1000 thread count and others that are priced – higher with the same or even less thread count. How do I know how to find quality sheets that will last? Are there any recommended brands?

im trying to buy bedding for my college dorm and need twin xl bedding. i was going to try to get twin xl sheets and then a queen comforter, however i can’t seem to find many places where i can buy just a comforter,etc especially one that isn’t super expensive. is there a way to do this? thanks!

I want some cool sheets. Video game themed, camouflage, or things otherwise fun and boyish. I have checked Overstock.com, Nextag, eBay, beddingsets.com, etc. It also has to be Queen sized and ship to Canada. All of the cool sheets I find do not come in queen sized which is really annoying me.
I was more looking for niche places, since none of the major retailers I can find sell anything cool. Amazon.ca sucks, and Amazon.com doesn’t ship to Canada.

Ok hundreds of years ago you would be hung drawn and quartered–but in today’s modern world, lets set the scene, the queen is in front of you and you are MEANT to curtsy, what if you just looked at her with no expression at all, what would actually happen, and does she actually have any rights to force you to bend down for her, (can you be locked up for life NO ) so why do people still do it–and what are we bowing to, she’s not my gran and doesn’t help pay my bills, she’s just on a coin and takes my tax. why would i be bowing to that.–anyone who says she brings in tourism and thats why we kneel to her, wont get my vote.

I have a queen sized feather mattress. Not a mattress pad like they sell nowadays, but a real feather mattress. I inherited it from my grandfather. It’s been up in the attic and I want to use it. It needs to be cleaned and a small rip in the seam needs to be repaired. How can I clean it at home and forego the costs of professional cleaning. This thing is heavy and anything to help with lifting it to clean would be wonderful.
