It’s almost seven thirty in the morning. I’m still strangely awake after seven days and nights locked in an empty room with no communication from the out side, and strangely enough a large double bed with freshly made silk white sheets and three perfectly plumped pillows. But still I have yet to sleep for even a minute.

I am able to stare out side through the slit in my white dolphin printed curtains. I’ve been sitting here for almost four hours now. The sun has just started to spill over my pale skin and swim around my flat freckled nose.

I had left my hair brush in the bathroom. My hair sits around my shoulders like a mess of yellow sea weed, and has tangled so bad it almost makes me feel claustrophobic in some way or another.

I just got this surfboard a few months ago and today i made the mistake of leaving it in the bag in the sun. All the wax melted and is now stuck to the sock cover. Any ideas on how to get the wax off?

The sock cover looks like this and is material similar to a flannel sheet.

Receiving, swaddling, etc.

I guess I just don’t understand why people don’t buy baby blankets like they do for adults. Adults buy thinner blankets for the warm seasons, and thicker blankets for the winter and those blankets can be used for holding your baby, wrapping them up when it’s cold out, or keeping the sun out of their eyes when they’re out.

Maybe I’m just silly. lol
I don’t mean using adult blankets for baby, by the way. I confused myself a little bit there too.

I use Sun laundry detergent, a cheap brand, but it has a wonderful smell. I also use Downy Clean Breeze fabric softener. My clothes always smell really good when I take them from the washer and put them in the dryer, but by the time I take them from the dryer, they have no scent at all. I’d love for my clothes to smell really good, and I’ve tried using dryer sheets, but nothing works.
Granted, it’s better that they smell like nothing than to have them smell bad, but I’d still like for them to smell good.
Any tips? I thought it might be that I had the heat up too high, so now I dry all my clothes on the low setting, but that hasn’t changed anything.

I have this really nice bed skirt that was left in the sun in a basket for a month. I didn’t realize it was there and now it has faded patches on the exposed parts.

I’d like to dye it. It’s a charcoal like gray. I know I could probably dye it black with little difficulty, but what about white or even light gray? Will it even out the colors? Would the faded patches show through? How would I lighten it without eating holes through the fabric (with bleach)?

I am making curtains and would like to line them with blackout lining. Could I used a white flat bed sheet instead of the blackout lining? I would like it to completely block out the sun as well as keep the heat/ or ac indoors. Also, will the sun make them change color or will it stay white?

I have white sheets at home and I can never get them white again. I know it’s not staining from the bleach I use because the fitted sheet is stained and the pillow cases are stained while the “loose” sheet is not. I’d like to try some home remedies before I go out and buy some more chemicals. As well, I can’t hang my sheets to dry in the sun because we don’t have a fence to hang a clothes line on and we don’t have anything for the sheets to hang off of outside.
Just a note — I wash the whole set together, the two sheets and two pillowcases. So that’s how I know it’s not the bleach.

I have a Queen Mattress…While I was on vacation, my cousin spent a month at my house and subsequently wet the bed. My mattress is fairly soiled, and despite dousing it in Talcum powder, it does not smell good. Is it okay to scrub it with soapy hot water and cleaning agents to get rid of the smell? And then air it in the sun? It was an expensive mattress, and my parents refuse to buy me another one/I cannot afford one!!!!

Haha and I’m such a restless soul so sometimes I do just do something else instead of sleep. Some of my favorite lyrics are from Count Em, One, Two, Three by The Maine where they say "Stay up and get down, sleep’s just time spent wasting time." I see that so clearly most days. And my bed has to be comfortable so I may need silk sheets haha or at least good Egyptian Cotton because silk is too slippery. Sometimes I even take a nap during the day so I can recharge, then I stay up all night true to my Sagittarius ascendant.

I already have a custom car cover which is more intended for storage. I would like to protect my car’s paint from the sun when I park it at work for ten hours, or when it’s in the parking lot of my apartment complex all day. i want something easy on, easy off. Is there anything on the market like this,
something light and airey. Would a bed sheet work? My car is a Chevy Cobalt.

This past winter I noticed that I either got backne (ew I know, but trust me, I don’t have bad hygiene. I rarely break out on my face.) or I’ve been having bad eczema breakouts. I usually get them on my arms, and I’ve never had one on my back before. It’s not noticeable unless I point it out to you, but it still bugs me. I thought the sun would help, because it usually does, so I started laying out a lot more than usual, but it didn’t help. I only use cotton or silk sheets, but could it be the fabric from my clothes/sheets? Should I talk to my dermatologist? And do any of you guys that have eczema have anything you recommend to control the breakouts?

I want to freshen my children’s mattress. I’ve cleaned it indoors using chemicals and clorox but it takes forever to dry and leaves a watermark stain.

I know this is "country", but I had a notion that since we’re going through a drought season, I want to take it outside, douse it with cleaners and hose it down! I know it will take forever to dry, but time and sun will be on my side.

Any better suggestions?
