Why are blankets, comforters, sheets and pillows so expensive ?
I can see if they are HAND sewn but ALL the ones I see are too expensive and are not hand sewn they come off machines that probably pump out 1000 at a time.
I do not care about Thread Count ect , I just want a new cheap Comforter.Full or Queen for under .00
Any places NOT online that carry them in Chicago ? And new not used.

How often would a woman expect her boyfriend to be changing the sheets? Once a week? Once a month? We shower every night directly before getting into bed, does that make it so I can have them on longer? Also (cover your ears if you are young), we do have a lot of *cough* you know, which is always done in bed, which makes me think that that would cancel out any progress made by the frequent showers.
Also, I just bought some really nice sheets (1000 thread count), they were very expensive. I have two sets of these. Is it o.k. if I keep changing between these two sets? Will they wear out quickly from all the washing?
I’m really just looking to not gross her out so any tips you girls could give me would be swell. If I need more sets of sheets, whatever it is, let me know. Thanks in advance!
Tips on comforters would be appreciated too!

My wife and I recently purchased a new king, upgrading from our queen. I’ve been looking around at bed sheets. It seems that Egyptian Cotton is pretty much the standard. However, I see some sheets that claim 100% Egyptian Cotton 1000 thread count and others that are priced – higher with the same or even less thread count. How do I know how to find quality sheets that will last? Are there any recommended brands?

I’ve recently bought a high thread count pillowcase, 1000 thread count, and my Acne started to popping out again. I was wondering if the pillowcase is causing the Acnes.
I paid for the pillowcase, I thought it was suppose to be better…

I’ve used sheets/etc from many stores thru my life, Ikea and small stores and big stores, and they were all standard soft 100% cotton linens so I didn’t even think they can be any different. Now I got this set for a bed (fitted sheet/pillowcases/etc) from Ikea, and while it’s 100% cotton it feels kinda rough even after multiple washes – a kind of "papery" feel, especially noticeable on pillowcases.
Now the only difference I see from all the previous ones I had that were white maybe with some geometric pattern, is that this one is black.
Is this papery thing because of coloring? Or is there some other factor (I heard there’s thread count and whatnot)? I want to buy normal "soft" sheets, and wonder what to look at if they all say "100% cotton".

Looking for an excellent brand for bedsheets…anyone?
what is the best name brand for a nice set of bed linens? im looking for high quality and sometimes the thread counts can be misleading. Also, looking for a high quality down comforter.
Anyone have a direction you can point me in?
The problem with only looking at the thread count is that it is misleading. I bought a very high thread count a couple years back…shoot, and I can’t remember what it was, but it was very high for a thread count and they were definately not what you would have expected.
That’s why I am inquiring about a reliable name brand that I can count on to deliver the expected quality every time!

I know it’s probably a silly question, but we have a set of dark-colored sateen sheets… very good quality, something like 1000 thread count or so. But, these sateen (that’s what they call them, I’m not meaning to say satin) sheets really do seem to attract lots and lots of little threads or mini-lint in the dryer. I think they have a lot of statis electricity or something.
Anyway, any of you laundry pros have a suggestion as to better practice for us? My wife and I can’t seem to find a way to get them out of the dryer without the "klingons". Right now, we just run one of those sticky wand things over them.

I just got a queen size bed and I need to get all new stuff for it. Should I go with a bed in a bag (which has all the things I need and then some things I don’t need, like pillow sham covers and is lower thread count and probably not that high of quality) or should I go with less things (like just the sheets and blanket) and have it be higher quality but I’ll have to buy more stuff as time goes on?

I have a Queen size bed and currently have a high thread count cotton fitted sheet on it, and my duvet cover is a cotton backing+micro suede top. The problem is that dog hair sticks to these very bad! I wash them 1x a week but within 2 days they are covered
And i simply cannot wash these every other day!
I ordered some satin sheets because my boss has them (and has 5 high-shedding dogs) and said hair just sweeps right off of her sheets
So i got them, in a red wine color, and i want to think about replacing my duvet cover too- I didnt want to do satin as well because I have been told it’s too slippery and the comforter will slip right off my bed
What can I pair with the sheets that makes my bed resist hair a little bit more?
I want it to be in brown if possible as i like the red+chocolate theme.
Any suggestions?
Glamorous- I have 2 Aussies currently and looking into doubling this number. I am also a professional dog groomer, my dogs are kept very well groomed.

I am in search of high quality 100% Egyptian Cotton sheets. I don’t have time to actually go to a store and look for them because I live so far from any store that would sell top-notch sheets. So I have resorted to buying online. I already own a set of Egyptian cotton sheets but I have worn them out. lol I bought them at Kohls about 3 years ago. But I can’t seem to find them now. I won’t settle for less than 600 thread count and I only have a full size bed so that cuts down my options from most places. Any answers will be greatly appreciated!! Especially answers with some experience behind them!

A certain brand?
Thread count?
Satin? Sateen?
Egyptian cotton?
I have stayed in numerous hotels that have marvelous bedding and I’ve yet to find anything that compares to the level of comfort and feel of those beds. So what’s the secret?
